Summary
The IRS has expanded Tax Pro Account (IR-2026-134) so authorised tax professionals can pay on behalf of business clients, not just view balances. Covered payments include balances, amended returns, extensions, proposed assessments and federal tax deposits, subject to valid client authorisation.
What it means for you
Firms handling US compliance for cross-border clients can now pay a US entity's taxes directly once properly authorised.
