Frequently asked questions
Who can get DPIIT recognition?
An entity incorporated as a private limited company, LLP or registered partnership, not older than 10 years, whose turnover hasn't exceeded ₹100 crore in any year, and which works on innovation or a scalable business model.
What is the 80-IAC tax benefit?
Eligible recognised startups can claim a 100% deduction of profits for any three consecutive years out of their first ten, after certification by the Inter-Ministerial Board.
Is DPIIT recognition the same as the tax exemption?
No. Recognition is the first step; the tax holiday needs a separate approval, which only some recognised startups receive.
